Jonathan Angel Rodriguez, 25

Jonathan Angel Rodriguez, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 31, in the 11900 block of 168th Street in Artesia, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

About 11:46 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the area regarding a call about a gunshot victim, according to a news release from the department. 

Deputies discovered two people, including Rodriguez, with gunshot wounds. Both Rodriguez and the juvenile were taken to a hospital, where Rodriguez was pronounced dead. The juvenile is expected to survive.

Authorities said that detectives are processing the scene and are looking for witnesses.
