Jose Alcantar, 36

Jose Alcantar, a 36-year-old Latino, died Saturday, July 16, near 171st Street East and Sweetaire Avenue in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Alcantar was walking with a woman down the street when a car pulled up and he got into an argument with the occupant.

At some point, the person in the car shot Alcantar, Winter said. Authorities were called, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Winter did not know if the woman was hurt during the incident.

There is too many questions; how can you reach down under the seat and pull it out while you're being pulled from the car? How do you get pulled from a car unless you rolled down the window to talk some smack? Where were the other guys while this was happening? Just sitting there?

And worst of all. How did he even know the shotgun was there? If you connect the dots with true bias, Ceace is right. It looks like they rolled up on this dude looking for some trouble. "too many questions" calls it right also. Was Jose trying to kill this kid? It doesn't sound like it or we wouldn't be posting here. It would be on a 17 year old's HR Blog.

Unless they found a gun on Jose, the self defense plea isn't going to hold water. This is just a tragic situation that ended bad, but could have ended much worse.

This whole I know what happend based on words from parties that were not there is well words escape me. To think that anyone can give testimony on any issue when the party was not present is just silly. There is no reason to pick up a shot gun, not a hand gun but a big ol' shot gun and use it on someone. If this young 17 year old was so worried and scared from his life what was he doing in the car with men so much older then him? That has to be the weakest reason to kill someone that I have ever read...the defese is I didn't want to be pulled out of the car to I took a shot gun from under the seat and used it on him? Really? If the person doing the pulling out of the car wanted to kill the person being pulled out of the car why didn't he use the shot gun instead?
