Jose Ortega, a 26-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Monday, March 5, near Huntington Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Ortega was shot while in a moving car about 7:57 p.m. The vehicle eventually crashed into a parked car.

Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's records show he suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.

A passenger in the car was also stuck by gunfire and taken to a hospital for treatment.
