Karnell Sean Lawson, a 58-year-old Black male, died Sunday, July 5, after being shot near West 52nd Street and Western Avenue in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

My only father my only real friend the only man that loved me dearly but couldn’t stand me because we were so much alike . . . Only god himself knows my pain and how much in disbelief that, a homicide would be the way that my father had to go. . He was such a good Father , Friend , Son , Husband , grand Father , spokesman a great advisor only wanted to see the good or better outta people . I can explain how hurt I am due to not seeing speaking or even hugging my father for years before he was sent home . dad I just want to to know I love you dearly and so much and I’m so sorry for not being the greatest daughter or the nicest little girl you raised I love you sooooooo much and I miss you even more 😭😭 you were a great father I couldn’t had asked for another one and you live thru me everyday I breathe I love you more then the air I breath thanks for everything rest easily nellzzynell until we meet again
