Lorri Anderson, 51

Lorri Anderson, a 51-year-old white woman, was fatally shot Tuesday, Dec. 11, near 8th and Coronado streets in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting about 9:40 p.m., according to an LAPD news release.

When authorities arrived, they discovered Anderson shot several times. Paramedics were called and the victim was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

During the investigation, detectives learned the shooter got out of a dark-colored sedan, approached the victim and began shooting. The assailant then got back into the car and drove away.

A motive for the slaying remains unknown.
