Mary Castro, 29, a Latina woman, was shot in the head in the 1700 block of Figueroa Street in LAPD's Harbor Division, and died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 1.

She had driven up from San Diego, and was killed in a possible robbery.

Update: LAPD Harbor Homicide Dets. Frank Weber and Mike Salvo have cleared this case. At least one latino suspect was arrested.

Its been a couple of years since this tragedy happened..nd it still hurts.I remember Beloved Mary Castro since I was a child.Our families know each other.She even dated my brother in middle school.I'm glad some justice is finally being served by those who are responsible for this.Because truth of a matter is SHE WAS STILL A PERSON!!!!who has a daughter,parents,siblings and friends who love her and cared about her.I remember her beautiful long hair.And her smile..She always had a good sence of humor.Taken away to soon.

People aren't perfect so for those with negative comments,no matter who you may be it DOESNT give anyone the right to take someones life away..nd over a robbery,how pathetic!!!..Mary we love you nd are always in our thoughts!
