Miguel Perez, 40

Miguel Perez, a 40-year-old Latino, died Friday, Oct. 11, after he was shot near East Young Street and Dominguez Avenue in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before midnight, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division responded to a call of a shooting in the area and found Perez, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, said Los Angeles police Det. Scott Coffee.

Police are trying to determine what Perez was doing in the moments leading up to the shooting. It’s unclear if he was in the area alone or with others. 

“No witnesses heard anything other than some shots,” Coffee said.
