Rayshawn Odalis Kemp, 27

Rayshawn Odalis Kemp, a 27-year-old black man, was fatally wounded on Tuesday, June 4, in the 300 block of East 169th Street in Carson, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Several people were on the sidewalk about 9:55 p.m. when an SUV drove by and a person fired several rounds toward the group, striking Kemp and a female, according to a release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated.

Kemp, who turned 27 that day, was taken to a hospital where he died at 10:22 p.m., coroner’s records show.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related, the Sheriff’s Department said.

I knew Rashawn, Bundy to us, for over 20 years, most of my life. We went to school, played sports, and grew up together. Our neighborhood is a small one in which we're all a family. It's sad my boy had to lose his life at such a young age on the block we've stomped for years. On his birthday of all days. I pray the Lord comforts your family kuz God knows you were loved. As for the person that took your life, you already know what it is bruh, she called kharma. It's sad that we have to live this life but it's playing the cards dealt. For those of you whom don't understand you never will and for my elders out there preaching stop the violence, wake up and all that good stuff nobody sleep. We know exactly what's going on but as wise man once said,"it's hard to be positive, when people shooting at your friends" That goes for civilians and the joke called Law Enforcement...
