Robert Hendrix, a 38-year-old white man, was shot and killed Saturday, Dec. 10, in the 11900 block of West Trail Road in Lopez/Kagel Canyon, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

A neighbor heard gunshots inside the victim’s home and called 911 about 3:15 a.m. Hendrix was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:40 a.m.

According to coroner’s records, Hendrix died from multiple gunshot wounds.

“It appears to have been a home-invasion robbery,” said Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide Det. T. Anderson.

Investigators are still seeking information and pursuing leads, Anderson said, and no arrests have been made.

I never knew this person, but upon hearing of his death I was overtaken by a great sadness, for him & for his poor mother (whomever she may be). I couldn't get the thought out of my head, ....a vibrant life "snuffed-out", so violently, so meaningless. I wept. I told my girlfriend about it, she wept too. For two days we mourned like this. Mourned the life of Mr. Hendrix himself, but also mourning the 'Blatant Disregard for Human Life', which is something I cherish very much. How could people be so disconnected from the 'Real Picture'? The Big Picture. The one we're all supposed to be a part of. A death....fueled not by Revenge, Dignity, Love or Pride. But by GREED. Shameful, Shameful GREED. His Life Force, forcibly extracted from its Host. Putting an end to any further future Life Experiences, not only for him-but for any of those that enjoyed his presence. And all for what? From what I understand his assailants plotted & enacted these evils for a measly fifteen hundred bucks! FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!! That's the price these people put on His Life. That's the price these people put on "Precious, Beautiful 'HUMAN LIFE' ". And that's where my understanding ceases as I struggle to interpret this Data presented before me. Thanks to all for tolerating such a long post, especially from a guy that didn't even know this poor man. All these feelings & emotions stirred up, and I'm Just Another Face in the Crowd, (imagine Friends & Family?)
