Robert Jaramillo, a 24-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Saturday, March 10, near Hawthorne Boulevard and Marine Avenue in Lawndale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Sheriff's homicide Det. G. Sloan, who is handling the case, said witnesses observed Jaramillo being assaulted about 10:50 p.m.

After he collapsed, the witnesses called 911. Paramedics arrived and the victim was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests made in connection with the death.

Citing the ongoing investigation, Sloan declined to provide a description of the assailant.

That's the kind of friend I had in you Robbie we were such good friends and inseparable at one point. Always getting into trouble but always had each others back :) You were my Best Friend and I loved the person you were always keeping it real and weren't afraid to act a fool. I miss you my friend and I know time took us in different directions but I always kept you close to my heart. I wish I could of had one last moment with you to tell you that I loved you as my Best Friend and I'm glad I meet you in my lifetime. Now my heart aches for the friend I know I'll never have again.
