Roger Lemontre Moore (2013-07-07)

Roger Lemontre Moore, a 40-year-old black man, died Sunday, July 7, one day after he was wounded in the 6000 block of 2nd Avenue in Hyde Park, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Moore had parked outside his home about 11:45 p.m. and left his car when a gunman walked up and shot him, LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera said.

The area where Moore parked is frequented by gang members, but Moore was not a gang member, LaBarbera said. Moore was shot multiple times and died at 12:07 a.m. at the scene, coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call LAPD’s criminal gang homicide division at (213) 485-4341. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
