A story for every victim

Rosa Maria Gallegos, 19

Rosa Gallegos, a 19-year-old Latina, was shot several times on the morning of Friday, May 8, while in a car in the 3400 block of South 11th Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Gallegos was in a parked car shortly before 10:30 a.m. when another vehicle pulled up behind her, and a person fired several shots at her, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. Gallegos was taken to the hospital, and pronounced dead about two hours later, Winter said.
