Sidney Bernard McGee, 48
Sidney Bernard McGee, a 48-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 27 in the 7500 block of South Central Avenue in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
McGee was standing outside a market about 6 p.m. when a man wearing all black walked up and shot him multiple times in the upper torso, said Los Angeles police Det. Sal LaBarbera.
McGee tried to hide behind parked cars before stumbling into the market, where he collapsed, LaBarbera said.
McGee was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:54 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman.
The weapon is outstanding and the motive remains unknown.
