Tam Phuong Le, 53

Tam Le, a 53-year-old Asian man, was found dead Saturday, Aug. 27, in the 400 block of Bauchet Street in Chinatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

At the time of his death, Le was an inmate at the Twin Towers Jail, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Le was discovered unresponsive in his cell about 6:20 a.m., Winter said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner's records show he suffered blunt force trauma to the face and was strangled.

Winter said he had no other information about the incident, including whether a person had been arrested in connection with the killing
