Thelma Brown, a 43-year-old black female, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, after being stabbed in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

I used to know her. She went by the name Silky. She used to hang out next to the Copper Kettle on Verdugo. A nearby character by the name of Jessie seemed to know a lot about this incident shortly afterward. I also heard from another individual still living in Eagle Rock after I left in 2005 that he heard from two different persons that a local woman named Trudy admitted to them her involvement too. I called Foothill Division with this information long go but never got a response. By the way, of those two witnesses-since not that too long afterward, one was dtabed near death and the other was found dead of smoke inhilation after a fire in an abandoned home-along with a stabbed to death woman besides her. Well these were all street people unfortunatly.
