Walter Shephard, 34

Walter Shephard, a 34-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, May 13, in the 11900 block of South Vermont Avenue in Vermont Vista, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Shephard got into an argument in a parking lot about 10:05 p.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

During the fight, the other individual pulled out a gun and shot Shephard several times.

Authorities were called and Shephard was taken to a hospital where he died at 10:37 p.m., Winter said.

He had no other information about the killing.
