Amber Nicole Sanders, a 15-year-old white female, died Saturday, Aug. 18, after being shot in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Amber was my niece through marriage I met her in I believe 1999 when I actually met her stepfather who is my step brother. She used to hang out with me and my younger sister and one of my best friends and would go to our other friends house with us sometimes. I remember when she was 14 years old she had gotten kicked out of her house because she was a troublemaker and rebellious and always pushed the line with her parents So eventually they felt they had no choice. She lived under a bridge for a little while from what I understand I never got to see her because she didn't want visitors which made me sad because I did love her and was sad that I didn't get to see her. I didn't know of course that was going to be the last time I was ever going to see her because 5 days after her 15th birthday she was murdered by from what I understand a man who wanted to be with her but she denied him and so he got revenge by shooting her I think around 10 times if I'm not mistaken. It's been a while of course it's been what 20 years since she died but I still think about her a lot and I'm sad that she didn't have more time on this earth. I know she's buried at Rose hills cemetery in California but honestly the last time I ever visited her grave was probably the year she died.
