Andrew Padilla Jr., 21
Andrew Padilla, a 21-year-old Latino young man, was chased down and killed near the southwest corner of Wilmington Avenue and Cherry Street in Compton on Tuesday evening, June 5, about 8:09 p.m.
A black man between the ages of 20 and 23 pursued him on foot and shot him, according to sheriff's deputies. Padilla was transported to UCLA-Harbor Medical Center, where he died.
Investigators called the motive gang-related. They seek tips. (323) 890-5500.
