Ashoy Hugh Brian Beharie, a 40-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Nov. 13, in the 1200 block of South Manhattan Place in Harvard Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after midnight, LAPD officers responded to a call of a person down in front of an apartment building, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sean Kinchla.

Officers found Beharie with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:31 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Witnesses told police that a white sedan pulled up and a person got out and shot Beharie, Kinchla said.

On Nov. 21, Kyandre Williams, a 29-year-old black man, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Williams pleaded not guilty to one count of murder on Nov. 27 and is due back in court Dec. 14, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Police said they are looking for an additional suspect.
