Branson Foster Jr., 32

Branson Foster Jr., a 32-year-old man of Pacific Island descent, died Sunday, July 22, soon after he was shot near Cherry Avenue and 45th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officials found three shooting victims, including Foster, in a park July 21 about 11:30 p.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.

The three victims were taken by paramedics to a hospital where Foster was later pronounced dead. The two other victims, a 39-year-old man and 41-year-old woman from Long Beach, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the victims were at the park for a family gathering when two unknown men walked up, revealed handguns, and fired at the crowd.

The shooters were described as Pacific Islander, in their late teens to early 20s.

A motive for the shooting is unknown.
