Lisa Nguyen, 27, and her mother, Bich Truong, 56, were found dead in their home Jan. 9 of apparent strangulation. Authorities said Back Xuan Nguyen, 60, killed his daughter and wife before committing suicide by jumping off a building.

Nguyen was a well-known graphic artist in Los Angeles who graduated from Cal State Long Beach.

"Decades: A Tribute Night for Lisa Nguyen" will be held at the Akbar Bar in Silver Lake at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, with DJ Mike Fix playing music. Donations will be accepted at the door with proceeds going to the Lisa Nguyen Memorial Scholarship.

This is the third event held in Nguyen's name. On Sunday, friends hosted a tribute art show at the Werby Gallery at her alma mater.

On a Facebook page with details about the previous event, one friend described Nguyen as "unstoppable, sparkling, vivacious, and very dear friend we were all so lucky to have."
