Gabriel Soto, 21

Gabriel Soto, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed at a party on Saturday, May 25 in the 600 block of South McDonnell Avenue in East L.A., according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Several people were gathered in a garage at the party at 3 a.m., when a male Latino walked up and fired several rounds. Two men, including Soto, were wounded in the shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Soto was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:18 a.m., according to coroner’s records.  The second victim was treated and released, the department said.

The shooter fled from the party. He is 5 foot 7 with long dark hair and weighs 150 pounds, authorities said.
