Gerardo Andre Hernandez, 31

Gerardo Andre Hernandez, a 31-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 21, in the 6200 block of South Figueroa Street in the Vermont-Slauson area of South Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Police responded to a call of a shooting at a tire shop about 4 a.m., Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling said. Officers arrived and found three people had been shot, Barling said.

Hernandez and a 21-year-old woman were both pronounced dead at the scene at 4:29 a.m., according to coroner’s records. A 41-year-old man died as a result of his wounds three days later.

Police said the shooting occurred at an abandoned tire shop where people sometimes slept and kept personal belongings. There weren’t any eyewitnesses, and police are looking into a potential motive for the shootings.

Each of the victims is believed to have been homeless, police said.
