A story for every victim

Guadalupe Delcarmen Hernandez, 39

Guadalupe Hernandez, a 39-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Tuesday, Dec. 13, at her home in the 13300 block of Pierce Street in San Fernando, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officials responded to a 911 call at 10:26 a.m. An elderly lady, who lives in a back unit on the property, heard gunshots and ran out to a neighbor, who made the call, said Det. P. Barron of the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill station.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. According to coroner’s records, she died of gunshot wounds to the head, neck and back.

The victim’s husband was at work, and her children were at school, Barron said, adding that there was no apparent forced entry into the home.

Investigators are following up on leads, Barron said, but investigators have not determined what prompted the shooting. No arrests have been made, and the weapon is still outstanding.

Officials did not provide any additional information about the case.

Anyone with details about the shooting is asked to call Det. J. Martinez at (818) 835-3115. Tipsters who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
