Hoa Tran, 40

Detectives were called about 4:45 p.m. after a man walked into a liquor store and found the front door open with the lights turned off, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said. The man then called 911.

Authorities found the victim, later identified as Hoa Tran, inside the store's refrigerator. He had been bound, gagged and shot in the head.

Residents told KTLA-TV that the liquor store was open sporadically and that the previous owner had been killed inside 10 years ago.
