Jorge Hortencio Valladares, 67

Jorge Valladares, a 67-year-old Latino, died Saturday, June 2, in the 12000 block of Vanowen Street in North Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

He was stabbed about 2:40 a.m. after Manuel Garcia-Perez, a 21-year-old Latino, got in a fight with his girlfriend, Los Angeles police said.

Valladares, who was Garcia-Perez’s roommate, allegedly tried to intervene and was stabbed "several times," KTLA reported.

Valladares died at the scene.

Garcia-Perez was taken into custody about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, online jail records showed. He faces charges of murder and domestic violence.
