Julio Menjivar, 42

Julio Menjivar, a 42-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Dec. 24, in the 5500 block of South Avalon Boulevard in South Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officials responded to a radio call reporting a robbery at a tire shop at 6:15 p.m. Menjivar was found shot and taken to County USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m.

According to coroner’s records, Menjivar died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting occurred outside the shop, said LAPD Newton homicide Det. M. Terrazas. Menjivar was assisting the tire shop, he said, and no one else was injured in the shooting.

Investigators are pursuing leads, but no arrests have been made. Officials did not release any additional information about the robbery and shooting.
