Lamar Thomas, 39
Lamar Thomas, a 39-year-old black man, died Sunday, Sept. 6 after he was shot in the 4700 block of South Avalon Boulevard in South Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On Sept. 2 about 12:30 p.m., Thomas was at a funeral when members of a rival gang walked up to his group, said LAPD Det. Richard Arciniega. There was an exchange of gunfire and Thomas was hit.
Thomas was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead four days later, according to coroner's records.
The gunmen fled east on East 47th Street.
