Loren Levi Arterberry, 36

Loren Arterberry, a 36-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Dec 21, at Western and Vernon avenues in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Arterberry, of Alhambra, was riding a bicycle when someone walked up and shot him, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Winter said the assailant then fled on foot.

Arterberry was shot about 7:40 p.m. and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., Winter said.

I'm just a random reader and I've never even commented on one of these things but I read your comments and needed to just say that I am praying tonight that God will heap blessings on you and your family! What a wonderful sibling you are to come back here on his birthday and check in with him. Reading your comment about thinking someone will tap you on your shoulder and tell you it was all a dream, brought tears to my eyes. I know it may not mean much from a random internet stranger, but you seem like a lovely person and your brother sounds like he was a sweet soul. He's just a soul in a better place right now, waiting till yall get there (as sh!tty as that is for us stuck down here). Anyway, you may never see this, but if you do, I hope this comment finds you well and that peace fills your heart until you see him again!
