Miguel Angel Chavez, 18

Miguel Chavez, an 18-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Oct. 9, in the 200 block of North Chicago Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Chavez died at the scene after an unknown suspect walked up and shot him three times near Michigan Avenue and Chicago Street about 1:45 a.m., said Sgt. Rick Colombia of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck station.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related, but they did not have a suspect description.

No arrests have been made.
