Jessie Medina, 19

Jessie Medina, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Oct. 9, in the 6700 block of Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Medina, of Hollywood, was shot about 3 a.m. near Las Palmas Avenue, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to the sound of multiple gunshots and found Medina lying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Authorities detained several people who were at the scene for questioning and later arrested a suspect. The alleged assailant has since been identified as Jorge Tejeda, a 19-year-old Latino.

According to officials, Tejeda was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held in lieu of $2-million bail.
