A woman was arguing with her girlfriend about 1:30 p.m. in the area when Yarborough tried to intervene and was shot by one of the women, Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling said.

Bufkin was charged with one count of murder with gun allegations and one count of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, according to prosecutors.
