Roman Freeman, 27
Roman Freeman, a 27-year-old white man, was shot and killed Monday, July 2, in the 2200 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Pico-Union, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Freeman got into a verbal altercation with a person at the Oasis Motel and was shot.
Authorities were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:33 a.m. Coroner’s records show Freeman died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
LAPD Rampart homicide Det. J. Pere, who is handling the case, said a second person was also shot during the incident, but the injury was minor.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the case and are looking for persons of interest in connection with the shooting.
Pere said no arrests have been made.
