Sidney Duane Wallace Jr., 19

Sidney Duane Wallace Jr. (2013-03-28)

Sidney Wallace, a 19-year-old black man, was shot and killed March 28, 2013, in the 200 block of East Hill Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Hill was one of three young men who were shot that day, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department. When officers came to the scene in response to a shots fired call at 9:15 p.m., they discovered Wallace with multiple gunshot wounds in his upper body.

The other two victims, ages 37 and 49, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to the release.

Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:19 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Investigators said Wallace and the two other men were standing in a parking lot adjacent to an apartment complex when they were shot. Coroner's records described the killing as a "walk-up shooting," but detectives were unable to get any suspect information or information about vehicles the suspect or suspects might have used to get away.

Long Beach investigators said Wallace was not a gang member.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered a $10,000 reward on Sept. 1, 2015, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Wallace's death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Long Beach Police homicide Det. Greg Krabbe at (562) 570-7244. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
