Terrence Bevills, 46

Terrence Bevills, a 46-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, May 19, in the 4000 block of Montclair Street in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Bevills was shot about 8 p.m. as he stood outside a building, authorities said. Police believe the crime may have been a gang-related drive-by.

Investigators are looking for a Kia Soul that left the scene with two men inside, authorities said.

Bevills, who went by the nickname Tubz, died at a hospital following the shooting.

According to the state’s Megan’s Law database, Bevills was a sex offender convicted of assault with intent to commit a specified sex offense.
