Timothy Edward Record, 38

Timothy Record, a 38-year-old black man, died of gunshot wounds to the head, neck and torso on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 1st and Utah streets in Boyle Heights, according to coroner's records.

Record was sitting in the driver's seat of his car, a 1997 Honda Accord, when someone shot him several times, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department.

People who live in the area told police they heard gunshots around 3 a.m. but did not call in to report them. Record was discovered at 7:30 a.m. when a construction worker found him in his car and empty bullet casings in the area, police said.

Police know of no suspect or motive for the killing and are asking anyone with information to call Hollenbeck homicide detectives Jacob Dugger or Araceli Negrete at 323-526-3142 or 323-525-3091.
