William Perez, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, April 27, in the 600 block of North Glenfinnan Avenue in Azusa, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Perez was visiting friends at the apartment complex where he used to live and was standing outside around 9:55 p.m. when someone shot him multiple times, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alfred said.
When Azusa police officers responded, they found people who were trying to help Perez but no one who had been outside during the shooting, Alfred said.
Investigators think the shooter could have been in a silver sedan or small SUV that was seen driving away, Alfred said.
“There were a lot of ear witnesses who heard the shooting … but nobody actually saw a car with a gun sticking out the side,” Alfred said. “We believe he [Perez] was standing out ...
