Eshagh Natanzadeh, a 61-year-old white man, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, after he was stabbed in a jewelry shop in the 700 block of South Broadway downtown, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Shortly before 9:30 a.m., a neighbor reported broken glass at a jewelry shop in the area along with a mistaken report that a person had been shot, said Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison.
“The investigation is now underway,” he said. “It’s a homicide, but what led up to all of that, I have no idea. That’s what the investigation is going to be trying to figure out.” Madison said the stabbing was not being classified as a robbery at this time.
At least 10 LAPD officers responded to the call, along with paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Louis Rabinowitz, a 54-year-old white male and employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, was stabbed to death Friday, Oct. 16, in the 800 block of West 7th Street in downtown Los Angeles, according to L.A. County medical examiner-coroner's records.
About 10:45 p.m., Rabinowitz got into an argument with a woman inside a train near the 7th Street/Metro Center subway station, police said.
The woman stabbed Rabinowitz once in the chest, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities say. The woman then fled the scene.
Irma Monroy, a 25-year-old Latina, was arrested on suspicion of murder the next morning, according to online Sheriff’s Department records. Monroy was charged with one count of murder with the allegation that she used a knife as a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Monroy is being held on $2.1-million bail.
