Gabriel Miccio, a 27-year-old Latino, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, after he was shot in the 7900 block of Hill Drive in South San Gabriel, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 9 p.m., Miccio was standing at the top of a long driveway outside his residence, talking to one of his siblings, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Marcelo Quintero.
Someone standing on the sidewalk or street fired at least one round from a distance, Quintero said, striking Miccio in the chest. The sibling was uninjured, but didn't see the shooter, he said.
Miccio was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:25 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Malisa Muruato, a 22-year-old Latina, was fatally shot Sunday, July 28, in the 8100 block of Celito Drive in South San Gabriel, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Deputies responded to a call of shots fired just after 7:30 a.m. and found Muruato and her boyfriend with gunshot wounds, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
Muruato died at the scene at 7:45 a.m., Winter said.
Her boyfriend was taken to a hospital where he died Monday, July 29, said Lt. Wes Sutton with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies are looking into whether the shooting was a murder-suicide, Sutton said.

Stephan Connlee, a 24-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, June 4, near Grandview Avenue and Orange Street in South San Gabriel, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Connlee was walking near his home with his mother about midnight when a car drove by and shots were fired, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.
Authorities were called, and Connlee was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m., Winter said. Coroner's records show the victim was shot several times.
