Bryant Tennelle, 18

Bryant Tennelle, 18, a young black man, was shot in the head in front of 1858 W. 80th St. near St. Andrews Street in Los Angeles. The assailant walked up to Bryant and shot him. He was taken to a hospital, where he died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 11.

He was the son of the LAPD Robbery-Homicide detective. Police are asking anyone with information to call (213) 485-1383.

Update: This case has been solved. A 25-year-old black man, and a 16-year-old black youth, have been arrested and charged with the murder of Bryant Tennelle. They probably had no idea they were killing the son of a police officer. They both face trial. The arrests were the work of LAPD South Bureau Det. John Skaggs.

My son Was murdered in Nashville TN I brought him to Nashville from Atlanta Ga in 1988 to get away from big city crime. We raised our sons in a fine home a small town away from all crime, nowhere is safe from Murder. Wake up America no matter if you are of color or white , we are all in Danger. It starts at home the children that have to survive are desperate, they will do anything to survive,to eat to make it on the streets. Parents need to be held accountable whether its Mom, Grandma, or Dad that truly loves his children stop blaming others. Ghettoside is a must read. I will forever be here to represent my son no matter what, he was a fine man and yes he was in the wrong place at the wrong time no matter what others say he was 2 weeks from being a Firefighter. Know this 2009 until now its still so hard to accept he will always be my heart he Was and still is my Son
