Donaciano Garcia, a 28-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Sept. 12, in the 9100 block of Juniper Street in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Investigators found Garcia lying in the street but have little information about what happened, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.
They believe Garcia was walking in the industrial-commercial area when a car pulled up about 3:22 p.m. and Garcia was shot, Jauch said.
Garcia was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:29 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to coroner’s records.
Jauch said Garcia lived in the Florence-Firestone area but not in that neighborhood.
