Gregory Montgomery, 51

Gregory Montgomery, a 51-year-old black man, was shot to death Friday, May 8, outside his home in the 200 block of Fanshaw Avenue in Pomona, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Montgomery was standing in front of his house about 10:30 a.m. when two black males, approximately 20 to 30 years old, approached him and began shooting, according to a news release from the Pomona Police Department. 

Montgomery's father called 911, according to the coroner's office.

The victim was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:39 a.m. by paramedics, according to the coroner's office and police.

Update June 5, 2015: Don Nell Parker, also known as Nell Parker and Donnell Parker, a 22-year-old black man from Pomona, was arrested May 28 and charged with murder and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 1 in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch.
