Noel Salinas, identified by the coroner's office as a 49-year-old white man, was shot and killed by authorities Thursday, Sept. 15, in the 13900 block of Van Ness Avenue in Gardena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Salinas was having an argument with the manager of a residence about 12:33 p.m. when he pulled out a gun.

Authorities were called and officials attempted to subdue Salinas, Winter said, but they were unsuccessful. At that point, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

Salinas was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m. Coroner's records show he had several gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

To the people just out right deffending cops. Well you should be ashamed of yourself. Your talking about my father. My father carried a gun since the late 70s. When laws where not as strict. It was a fight between him and an asociate. I know my dad, and the story. The associate called police after the argument. This person knew my dad was alwasy armed. So when cops came they where they didnt think twice. Armed hispanic male so shoot to kill. Also id like to state one round will incapacitate usually. They did need to empty clips. My dad did not pull the fire arm out and aim. He was pulling it out to relinquish the weapon. On a side not the corrupt police dept would not even release the report or the officers name. If things where on the up and up why the secracy? Why is it asking for persons with information? Probably cause there where numerous holes in the officers story. He was 59 and a senior citizen for gods sake. My dad made a stupid comment that a person took to far. It did not warrat his death. Honeslty to those who just so quickly condoned. I wish my loss 5 fold on you. May u know the pain and suffering i have. To the comment of people with better judgment. Officer related shooting have sky rocketed cause it next to impossible to sue the police dept now. Leaving no reprocussions for wrong doing, causing the loss of a life
