Roberto Fausto Rodriguez, 39

 Roberto Fausto Rodriguez, a 39-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by police officers on Tuesday, April 8, in the area of East 4th Street and Soto Street in Boyle Heights, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. 

Los Angeles Police Department patrol officers heard gunshots about 10:25 p.m.  and found Jonathan Aragon, a 29-year-old Latino, with multiple gunshot wounds in his chest, according to a LAPD news release. 

A man was seen running from the scene, according to the release, and the officers took chase. An LAPD helicopter helped to locate the gunman, identified as Rodriguez, and direct officers to his location, according to investigators. 

Rodriguez allegedly began shooting at the officers as they approached him, and the officers returned fire, investigators said. 

Rodriguez was shot multiple times and killed, according to the coroner’s office. 

Both Aragon and Rodriguez were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The LAPD has identified four officers who were involved in the shooting as Sergio Gramajo, Michael Nguyen, Hector Almeda and Heriberto Crisantos-Garcia.
