Jose Guadalupe Diaz, a 35-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Tuesday, May 3, in the 4100 block of East Valley Boulevard in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:15 a.m., Diaz stopped his black Honda Civic on East Valley Boulevard and got out of the car, said LAPD Det. Jose Ramirez. He was involved in an argument with a man on a bicycle, then got back into his car. The man approached with a knife in his hand and stabbed Diaz in the chest through the driver’s side door, Ramirez said.
The assailant fled on the bicycle, Ramirez said.
Diaz was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
