Lisa Ramirez, a 32-year-old Latina, was fatally stabbed Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the 1100 block of South Flower Street downtown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 3 p.m., Ramirez was working in the open-air courtyard of the Flower Street Lofts when a tenant, identified by authorities as Michael Rogers, ushered her into his unit, police said.
What exactly was said isn’t known, but minutes later Ramirez was dead of stab wounds.
Her body was found in Rogers’ apartment, authorities said, after Rogers was shot dead by Los Angeles police officers on a nearby street.
Ramirez’s mother said an investigator told her that security cameras captured Ramirez following Rogers out of the courtyard, then a few minutes later, Rogers dragging her into his apartment.

Jose Rodriguez, a 34-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Monday, Jan. 2, in the 100 block of Leroy Street in Chinatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records and police.
About 5:30 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a man suffering from stab wounds and found Rodriguez, said LAPD Det. Doug Pierce.
Police determined that there had been a dispute between Rodriguez and a neighbor which resulted in the stabbing, Pierce said, but he declined to elaborate.
Rodriguez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Christian Nino, a 22-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Sunday, Jan. 1, in the 2600 block of Jeffries Avenue in Cypress Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
About 2:15 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing, according to an LAPD news release.
When officers arrived, they encountered paramedics who were treating Nino, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe Nino got into a fight with three other Latinos and was stabbed, according to the news release. The others, described as being 18 to 20 years old, were last seen running northbound on Jeffries Avenue to West Avenue 28.

Anthony Nelson III, a 20-year-old black man, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, after he was stabbed in the 4900 block of East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Nelson was standing in the parking lot of the Belvedere Skatepark when he was stabbed, said said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Nelson, a skateboarder who lived in the area, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:14 p.m.
Investigators don’t know why Nelson was in the parking lot, and they haven’t been able to get any suspect information, Mendoza said.
“As soon as it happened, the people around him were like, ‘I’m out of there,’ ” Mendoza said.

Gilbert Ochoa, a 43-year-old Latino, died Friday, Dec. 9, after he was stabbed in the 4000 block of Harlan Avenue in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Ochoa was talking with a neighbor in the neighbor's driveway a little after midnight when one of the neighbor’s tenants came outside and instigated an argument, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
The argument grew into a physical fight, and Ochoa struck the tenant with a metal pipe, Mendoza said.
The tenant then wrested the pipe away from Ochoa, struck him with it and stabbed him, Mendoza said.
Ochoa was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Aaron David Whatley, a 43-year-old white man, was stabbed to death Thursday, Dec. 8, in the 4900 block of Ferro Court in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 6:30 a.m., Long Beach police were called about a stabbing, according to a news release. Officers found Whatley, who had been stabbed in the chest.
Whatley was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:04 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
A man at the scene was detained, but police released him pending further investigation, a spokeswoman said. No arrests have been made.

Siaufung “Bosco” Tjan, a 50-year-old Chinese man, was fatally stabbed Friday, Dec. 2, inside a building at the University of Southern California in the 3600 block of McClintock Avenue, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 4:30 p.m., police received a 911 call about a victim with multiple stab wounds, said LAPD Det. Meghan Aguilar. Responding firefighters found Tjan’s body inside his 10th-floor office in the Seeley G. Mudd building.
Tjan was stabbed in the chest, and a 28-year-old student was taken into custody, police said.
“We want to make clear this was not a random act,” Aguilar said. “This victim was targeted by the suspect.”

Frederico Hernandez Vasquez, a 67-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Nov. 12, in the 11000 block of Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 6:30 a.m. Vasquez was walking through a park getting exercise and collecting cans when a man walked up to him and stabbed him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Peteque.
The man then stabbed a 61-year-old who was sitting on a bench, Peteque said.
Police arrived and arrested a man, authorities said.
Vasquez was pronounced dead at 7:59 a.m. The 61-year-old man is expected to survive, Peteque said. “There is no real motive,” Peteque said. “They were just out for a walk.”

Leopoldo Delatorre, a 58-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Thursday, Nov. 10, in the 10700 block of McNerney Avenue in Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Delatorre, who lived in Whittier, was doing construction work on a home with his 24-year-old son around 10 a.m. when the two got into an argument, L.A. County Sheriff's Lt. John Corina said.
The dispute escalated, and the son stabbed Delatorre, Corina said. Delatorre was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:14 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Nur Delatorre, who is Latino, was arrested on suspicion of murder that day, according to online jail records.
People who know the Delatorres said they were known to argue, Corina said. He added that it is unclear exactly what led to the stabbing and that Nur Delatorre has no criminal record or gang affiliation.

About 5 p.m., the child, who was at a garment factory where her parents work, went to give her father a cookie, according to Los Angeles County prosecutors.
Ruby was seen running with a man close behind who stabbed the child, police and prosecutors said.
The child’s mother flagged down an ambulance, said Los Angeles Police Capt. Jorge Rodriguez. Ruby was taken to a hospital where she died.
