Alberto Alejandro Calvillo, a 24-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 6, in the 13300 block of Ramona Boulevard in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Calvillo and his fiancee were standing outside a restaurant about 11:10 p.m. when a man and his adult nephew began talking to each other loudly “and using disrespectful language,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said.
The language upset Calvillo, who began to argue with the men, Mendoza said.
“He was saying things like ‘Have some respect’ because there was a lady there and their words were offending his fiancee," he said.
During the argument, the uncle told his nephew, “Go get my gun,” Mendoza said. The nephew walked over to his car, got inside and drove over to where his uncle and Calvillo were standing.
