Ashton Crosswell, 17

Ashton Crosswell, a 17-year-old black man, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, eight days after he was shot near Anzac Avenue and 103rd Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting about 7:10 p.m. and discovered Croswell shot, said LAPD Criminal Gang and Homicide Det. M. Castaneda, who is handling the case.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries more than a week later. Coroner's records show he suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.

Castaneda said a description of a shooter and a motive for the killing remains unknown.
