Benjamin Cerna, 23

Benjamin Cerna, a 23-year-old Latino man, was fatally wounded July 10 in the 900 block of West 152nd Street in Compton, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Deputies responded to a call about a gunshot about 1:50 a.m. and found Cerna, who had been shot, in the street, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Cerna was taken to a hospital, where he died at 6:25 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff Department’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
