Dorothy Armstrong, 88 [Update]

Dorothy Armstrong, an 88-year-old white woman, was stabbed to death Thursday, May 5, in the 3500 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

A 63-year-old man fatally stabbed Armstrong about 10 a.m. then used the knife to wound himself, police said. Coroner's records show Armstrong was stabbed in the neck.

The man underwent surgery and was in critical condition after the morning incident, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Detectives believe that the two were related but did not elaborate

No other details were released by police, who said the investigation was ongoing.
