Shaqcore Dalvin Prawl, a 21-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Friday, July 7, in the 2200 block of Valley Boulevard in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Pomona police responded about midnight to a call regarding an assault in a residential area, according to Sgt. Bert Sanchez. Officers found Prawl suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:31 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Later that day, police arrested Chayenne Capri Lywood, 20, in connection with the stabbing, which detectives have called the result of domestic violence, Sanchez said.
On July 11, Lywood pleaded not guilty to murder charges. She is scheduled to return to court July 24.
Katrina Lynn Barragan, a 37-year-old Asian woman, died on Sunday, July 2, after she was stabbed in the 4200 block of Jonathon Street in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Barragan and her husband, Rafael Barragan, a 47-year-old Latino, got into an argument at their home the evening of July 1, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Moore.
Katrina Barragan called 911 about 11 p.m. and her husband hung up the phone, Moore said. The call triggered deputies to go to the home, Moore said. When they arrived, they found Rafael Barragan outside the house and his wife inside, with stab wounds, Moore said.
Katrina Barragan was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m. July 2, according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as multiple stab wounds.
Fredrick Ford, a 51-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Friday, June 30, in the 1200 block of East Harvard Street in Glendale, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Glendale police responded about 6 p.m. to a call about an unresponsive man in the driveway of an apartment complex, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William. Once there, police found Ford suffering from multiple stab wounds, William said.
Ford was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:33 p.m., according to coroner’s records. Neighbors said he lived nearby and described him as a nice man who never caused trouble.
On the night of Ford’s death, detectives found a security camera that showed a man leaving the scene around the time of the stabbing.

Michael Anthony Villar, a 26-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Saturday, June 10, in the 1200 block of College View Drive in Monterey Park, according to to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 12:30 a.m., Villar and two other men got into an argument over a parking space outside an apartment complex, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Moore.
The argument escalated to a physical fight, Moore said, and Villar was stabbed multiple times.
Villar was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Claudia Moya-Sanchez, a 37-year-old Latina, died Monday, May 29, after she was stabbed in the 1600 block of East Palmer Street in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Moya-Sanchez was at home around 9 a.m. when she got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend, Andres Garcia, 38, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Moore said.
During the argument, Garcia, also known as Jose Gonzalez, stabbed Moya-Sanchez multiple times, Moore said.
Moya-Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Garcia drove away from the scene, Moore said, but was arrested in Ventura County later that day by California Highway Patrol officers and transported back to Los Angeles.

Tomas Hernandez, a 50-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed and beaten Saturday, May 27, in the 8100 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 2:20 a.m., officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Hernandez face down in the street in a pool of blood, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:41 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
A witness told police that a Latino of an unknown age kicked and punched Hernandez, who was screaming for help, in the face multiple times.
After several minutes, the suspect ran away.

Trevante Romero Banks, a 27-year-old black man, died Thursday, May 25, after he was stabbed near West Martin Luther King Jr. and Crenshaw boulevards in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:30 p.m. on May 4, Banks and another person were standing on a street corner drinking together when the other man challenged Banks to a fist fight, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.

Maria Magdalena Figueroa, a 39-year-old Latina, was fatally stabbed Wednesday, May 24, in the 8300 block of Florence Avenue in Downey, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Downey police responded at about 1:30 p.m. to a call about a woman stabbed in the area, according to Sgt. Tim Lau. Officers found Figueroa, from Maywood, suffering from several knife wounds, Lau said.
Figueroa was transported to a local hospital where she died at 1:55 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
